The Patient Empowerment Workshop

OUR MISSION

The Patient Empowerment Workshop is dedicated to helping patients get the care they deserve.

Coping with serious and ongoing illness is scary, frustrating, and bewildering. Worse, the medical systems we encounter as patients and caregivers often make things harder.

We believe that every patient and caregiver can learn the skills they need to take a seat at the table as equals.  Each of us can empower ourselves to navigate the system in a way that yields the highest quality care and the best outcome possible.

The Patient Empowerment Workshop creates and hosts online, written, and interactive experiences that teach practical skills on how to cope with the stress of illness, balance life and caretaking, communicate with doctors so they listen, and stay safe in a chaotic environment.  Our goal is to help you peak behind the curtain, discover how doctors think, & learn how you can maneuver the system in a way that gets you better care.

When hope is dim, we can shine the light to guide you home.

PURCHASE & REFUND POLICY

Effective Date: September 17, 2026
This Purchase & Refund Policy applies to digital courses and other digital educational products sold by Patient Empowerment Workshop, Inc. (“PEW,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) through www.patientempowermentworkshop.com.
Please review this policy carefully before completing your purchase.
1. Digital Product Only
Patient Empowerment Workshop courses are digital products delivered electronically.
No physical product will be shipped to you.
Your purchase provides access to the online course and any digital materials included with that course for the access period identified on the applicable purchase page.
2. ALL SALES ARE FINAL — NO REFUNDS
ALL PURCHASES ARE FINAL AND NON-REFUNDABLE.
Because PEW courses are digital educational products and access to course content may be provided promptly following purchase, we do not provide refunds, returns, or exchanges after a purchase has been completed, including if:

  • you change your mind;

  • you decide you no longer want or need the course;

  • you do not begin the course;

  • you do not complete the course;

  • you do not use all available course materials;

  • you do not use the course during your available access period;

  • you expected different information or results;

  • your personal circumstances change; or

  • you are dissatisfied with the results you obtain from applying the educational information.

Please review the course description and other information provided on the Website before completing your purchase.
By completing your purchase, you acknowledge and agree that the purchase is final and non-refundable.
Nothing in this policy eliminates any consumer right or remedy that cannot legally be waived.
3. Immediate or Electronic Access
Course access instructions are provided electronically.
Depending upon the course and technology used, access may be provided immediately after purchase or through an email, account, access link, or similar electronic method.
It is your responsibility to provide an accurate email address and maintain access to that email account.
If you have paid for a course but are unable to access it because of an apparent technical or account issue, contact:
info@patientempowermentworkshop.com
We will make reasonable efforts to correct legitimate access problems.
4. Failure to Receive Access
The no-refund policy is not intended to allow PEW to charge for a product that it fails to provide.
If you completed a valid purchase and PEW is unable to provide the purchased course access because of an error attributable to PEW that we cannot reasonably correct, we will provide an appropriate remedy as required by applicable law.
Before disputing a charge because you did not receive access, please contact us at:
info@patientempowermentworkshop.com
so that we can investigate and attempt to resolve the issue.
Nothing in this policy limits your legal rights concerning unauthorized transactions or charges that you did not make.
5. Course Access Period
Your purchase gives you access to the course for the period identified on the applicable sales or checkout page.
The access period begins according to the terms displayed at purchase, which may begin when access is made available.
Failure to use the course during the access period does not extend the access period and does not create a right to a refund.
Unless expressly stated otherwise in writing, course access is not lifetime access.
6. Individual Use
A course purchase is for the use of the individual purchaser or authorized recipient.
Login information and course access may not be:

  • shared with another person;

  • resold;

  • transferred for compensation;

  • posted publicly;

  • distributed to a group; or

  • used to provide unauthorized access to PEW materials.

Unauthorized sharing may result in suspension or termination of access without a refund, to the extent permitted by law.
7. Technical Requirements
You are responsible for having appropriate technology and Internet access to use the digital course.
This may include:

  • a reliable Internet connection;

  • a supported web browser;

  • a computer, tablet, or compatible mobile device;

  • the ability to view online video or other digital content; and

  • a functioning email account.

We cannot guarantee that every older device, browser, operating system, Internet connection, corporate network, security configuration, or third-party software environment will be compatible with the Website.
If you experience a technical problem, contact us and we will make reasonable efforts to assist you.
8. Educational Product — No Guaranteed Result
Purchasing a PEW course does not guarantee a particular medical, healthcare, communication, emotional, financial, or other result.
The value a user receives from educational material depends upon individual circumstances and many factors outside PEW's control.
Please review our Terms of Use & Medical Disclaimer for additional information.
9. Course Content
We may update, reorganize, clarify, or improve course materials over time.
Such updates do not create a right to a refund.
We will not intentionally remove the fundamental purchased course during a valid paid access period without providing a reasonable alternative or other remedy where required.
10. Prices
Prices are displayed before purchase.
Prices and promotions may change from time to time.
A later price reduction, promotion, coupon, or special offer does not create a right to a refund or adjustment for a previous purchase unless we expressly state otherwise.
Applicable taxes, if any, may be added as required by law.
11. Discount and Promotional Codes
Discount codes and promotional offers may:

  • have expiration dates;

  • apply only to designated products;

  • be limited to one use;

  • be limited to certain purchasers; or

  • be subject to additional stated conditions.

Unless otherwise stated, discounts cannot be applied retroactively to purchases already completed and have no cash value.
12. Duplicate Purchases
If you believe you accidentally purchased the exact same course more than once because of a technical error, contact us promptly at:
info@patientempowermentworkshop.com
We will review the transaction history and determine whether a duplicate charge occurred.
A verified duplicate transaction caused by a payment or technical error may be corrected and is not considered a voluntary refund under our no-refund policy.
13. Unauthorized Purchases
If you believe your payment method was used without authorization, contact your financial institution and notify us promptly at:
info@patientempowermentworkshop.com
Our no-refund policy does not waive rights you may have under applicable law concerning fraudulent or unauthorized transactions.
14. Suspension or Termination for Misuse
PEW may suspend or terminate course access when we reasonably determine that an account has been used to:

  • share course access without authorization;

  • copy or redistribute PEW content;

  • violate intellectual-property rights;

  • interfere with the Website;

  • engage in fraudulent activity; or

  • materially violate our Terms of Use.

Where permitted by law, termination for a material violation of the Terms does not create a right to a refund.
15. No Shipping
PEW courses covered by this policy are delivered electronically.
There are no shipping, delivery, handling, or physical return charges because no physical item is being shipped.
16. Governing Terms
Purchases are also governed by our:

  • Terms of Use & Medical Disclaimer; and

  • Privacy Policy.

If a specific purchase page contains additional terms applicable to that particular course or offer, those additional terms also apply.
17. Governing Law
This Purchase & Refund Policy shall be governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where applicable law requires otherwise.
Nothing in this policy limits consumer rights that cannot legally be waived.
